1080p
1080p currently is the HDTV format with the highest quality. Just like with 1080i the image is composed of 1080 vertical lines with 1920 pixels in each line. However, the difference is expressed with the “p” which stands for progressive scan where where all the 1080 image lines are refreshed with each refresh cycle. This way 1080p makes optimal use of the available image pixels. HDTV Manufacturers sometimes refer to 1080p as “Full High Definition”, “Full-HD” of “True High Definition” but in some cases these words are being misused for TV’s which do not comply to the 1080p standard.
A number of scenes in the movie Starwars Episode lll has been registered in 1080p quality.
