TechniSat LCD HDTV 46 introduction
The new Technisat ”žHDTV 46“ combines a 46 inch panel, PVR, Dual HDTV MultiTuner for digital satellite, digital cable television, DVB-T and HDTV reception in a single unit!
TechniSat Digital GmbH (Germany) will present its new Full-HD LCD television set, the “HDTV 46″, featuring an integrated Dual MultiTuner, for the first time at the international broadcast show (IFA) 2007 in Berlin: the Dual HDTV MultiTuner allows you to receive TV and radio programmes either in HDTV quality or in SD-quality via digital satellite, digital cable and digital terrestrial paths, and also provides connections each for analogue cable, analogue terrestrial and FM radio ”“ without any need for an additional receiver.
The ”žHDTV 46“ makes your television dreams come true in a whole new dimension: elegant, top-quality aluminium design, a huge screen (46 inch or 116 cm diagonal size) tremendous depth of field and exceptionally sharp images are the key features.
The LCD TV set has a 46 inch screen size and true 1080p resolution, and provides a unique combination of innovation and design in a single unit. In addition to the reception of free-to-air TV and radio programmes, the ”žHDTV 46“ can receive Pay-TV and Pay-Radio programmes, as it is equipped with two CI interfaces, a SmartCard reader and the integrated CONAX decoding system. Furthermore you can also connect external equipment by means of three HDMI and two SCART sockets.

HDTV 46 tuners
The Dual HDTV MultiTuner technology provided in the “HDTV 46″ combines all the possible receivers required in a single TV unit. The Dual HDTV MultiTuner allows you to receive TV and radio programmes either in HDTV quality or in SD-quality via digital satellite, digital cable and digital terrestrial paths, and also provides connections each for analogue cable, analogue terrestrial and FM radio. In addition, the ”žHDTV 46“ features an integrated 160 GB hard disk, and provides one-touch time-shifted television viewing.
The TWIN-Tuner concept and the integrated 160 GB hard disk of the ”žHDTV 46“ allow you to receive two different programmes via satellite, thus enabling you to record one programme while simultaneously viewing a different programme.
This function is of particular use if you are not the only person viewing television on this set. If, for instance, your partner wants to see a handball game, while you have other programme preferences. The TWIN-Tuner technology allows you to record your favourite programme while your partner can watch his handball game at the same time.
Timeshift
If, for example, you are viewing a television programme, and are interrupted by a telephone call, you can stop the programme simply by pressing the ”žPause“ key on the remote control. The programme will now be recorded in the background, and you can resume viewing, from the point at which you stopped the programme, when you have completed the telephone call.
In addition, special editing functions of the integrated HDTV receiver enable you to remove unwanted scenes.
Pay-TV and Pay-Radio programmes
The ”žHDTV 46“ is already equipped with the CONAX decoding system, including an integrated SmartCard, enabling you to also receive Pay-TV and Pay-Radio programmes. The TechniSat-SmartCard supplied with the HDTV 46 allows you to receive CONAX-encrypted programmes such as the TechniSat-Radio Bouquet (15 CONAX-encrypted niche radio programmes broadcast via ASTRA at 19,2° East) and the RADIOROPA audio book channels (4 CONAX-encrypted audio book channels broadcast via ASTRA at 19,2° East) as well as the MTV unlimited Pay-TV package (6 CONAX-encrypted Pay-TV programmes broadcast via ASTRA at 19,2° East).
In addition, additional decoding systems can be used in parallel with CONAX, as the ”žHDTV 46“ is equipped with two Common Interface (CI) slots. This is an ideal performance feature for customers who wish to avail themselves of Pay-TV or Pay Radio from several providers. In this context the application of TechniSat’s TechniCrypt BCX CA-Modul with BetaCrypt 1 and CONAX is recommended.
DigiButler-Service ”“ free of charge
Naturally, the ”žHD-TV 46″ also comes equipped with the TechniSat DigiButler-Service, free of charge. The DigiButler-Service is the term used to describe all the added value services provided by TechniSat. These include the programme information service ”žSiehFern INFO“, the programme list manager ISIPRO, the automatic software updating function TechniMatic and the installation assistant AutoInstall.
For instance, the free added value service TechniMatic allows you to update the software automatically, via satellite, cable or terrestrial signal, ensuring you have the latest version of the software available at all times. Another added value service is the ISIPRO programme list manager, which is supplied with all TechniSat digital satellite receivers. Whenever there are frequency changes, or when new programmes are made available, or existing programmes switched off, ISIPRO provides automatic updates, thus ensuring TechniSat customers never have to worry about bothersome manual reprogramming. The integrated programme information service “SiehFern INFO Plus” provides high-quality editorially enhanced programme information for more than 70 channels, up to seven days in advance, including additional video material on selected programmes.
Recording function
Are your favourite programmes broadcast during the daytime, when you don’t have the time to view them? In that case the free TechniSat added value service ”žSiehFern INFO Plus“ provides the optimum solution:
”žSiehFern INFO Plus“ enables you to plan your own radio and television programmes up to seven days in advance, allowing you to record your favourite programmes during the week, so that you can view them in peace and quiet on the weekend.
Simply use the “SiehFern INFO Plus“ function to select digital TV or radio programmes with a single keystroke, and have them recorded. If, for instance, you wish to record your favourite series automatically each week, you can simply mark this programme using ”žSiehFern INFO Plus“, and can set the automatic recording function conveniently with a single keystroke. An ideal feature for all those viewers who want to be certain they will not miss their favourite programmes.
TechniSat HDTV 46 connection options
The new LCD unit is equipped with three HDMI interfaces (including HDCP) for digital audio and video signals, as well as with two Scart connections that function as analogue inputs and outputs. A special feature of the ”žHDTV 46“ is that a number of different options are provided for data connections with PC’s resp. with external data carriers.
The USB 2.0 port of the ”žHDTV 46“ allows you to connect storage media such as USB sticks or external hard drives. Digital photographs in JPEG format or music in MP3 format can be easily exported from the hard disk to a PC.
Technology and design
The HDTV is an LCD television set that is ready for the future, combining all reception paths in a single TV set, is certified HDready, and provides you with an integrated HDTV receiver, with the option of enjoying high definition programmes via satellite (DVB-S2).
In addition to its many technical highlights, the ”žHDTV 46“ is also a real focal point for your living room. The high-quality design of the ”žHDTV 46“ is enhanced by the contrast pane with multiple anti-reflective coating, which protects the LCD panel and provides even more brilliant colours. The modern aluminium frame is silver in colour, and coated with eloxal, surrounding the screen in a classy minimalist design. Silver highlights were also set in the design of the optionally available loudspeaker boxes. These are active loudspeaker designs, available in shelf-mounted and floor-mounted versions. The loudspeakers receive the audio signal by wireless, and can thus be positioned anywhere in the room. This allows you to create your living environment totally in accordance with your own wishes.
