XBOX 360 and HDMI FAQ
Almost on a daily basis we receive questions about the availability of a HDMI connection on the regular XBOX 360 and many rumours circulate on this subject.
That’s why we decided to check with Microsoft for the formal answers to frequently asked questions about the XBOX 360 and HDMI.
As announced earlier the XBOX 360 Elite will arrive with HDMI connection but in this FAQ we focus on the regular XBOX 360.
John Porcaro, Group PR Manager for Xbox told us: “Yes, we are offering an HDMI port for Xbox 360 simply as another choice in Xbox 360 owners’ games and entertainment experience. Retailers are gradually introducing HDMI-enabled Xbox 360s into the channel to meet demand.”
Question: Is there a serial number range to look for when purchasing these or just look for the HDMI logo on the box?
Answer: Xbox 360 consoles with an HDMI port will carry the HDMI logo on external packaging.
Question: Do those boxes sent in for 3-ring repair get replaced with updated HDMI white boxes?
Answer: No. We make every effort to repair your original console.
Question: Will the Limited Edition Halo 3 boxes have HDMI?
Answer: Yes.
Question: Will the updated premium boxes have other updates to the hardware inside similar to the Elite?
Answer: Aside from noticing a HDMI port on the console, consumers will get the same great games and entertainment experience that they enjoy on all existing Xbox 360 consoles.
Question: I saw a stack of them next to a stack of Elites yesterday at Bestbuy with a manufacture date of July 6th, 2007 when I was picking up The Simpsons Season 10 and Rome 2 DVDs and was wondering if there was an official announcement or if they are slowly be sneaked into retail as “the fix” for the warranty issues.Makes me have buyer’s remorse for being an early adopter.
